Hi, I'm Matt
MY BACKGROUND
I’ve been a proud resident of Parkland County all my life. Growing up on a beef cattle farm just northwest of Spruce Grove, I spent much of my time outdoors, always busy with one chore or another. That experience helped shape my understanding of what makes Parkland unique.
We’re a county that surrounds vibrant cities like Edmonton, Spruce Grove, and Stony Plain. The tri-region, as we now call it, is a growing area rich in economic opportunity, community spirit, and agricultural roots. We’re becoming a regional powerhouse with incredible growth potential.
For over a decade, I’ve worked with the Edmonton Construction Association, supporting members on issues like contracting, permitting, zoning, and sustainability—knowledge I bring with me to any leadership role in Parkland County.
In 2019, I was proud to be one of the founding Directors of the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce, and in 2023, I served as Chair of the Board. That role introduced me to countless local businesses and community leaders, deepening my insight into the region’s opportunities and challenges.
Parkland County is my home, and I’m passionate about helping shape its future with experience, commitment, and community focus.
MY VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Parkland County is the place I’ve chosen to call home and raise my family. That’s why it’s a privilege to put my name forward in service of my neighbours in Division 3.
I believe we can honour our agricultural roots while leading in business and community growth. From the commercial hub of Acheson to expanding areas like Wabamun, and emerging agri-tech opportunities in the south and west, Parkland is full of potential.
The new Municipal Development Plan and upcoming Land Use Bylaw are designed to support this growth and give both council and citizens the tools to guide it responsibly.
It’s also important to recognize that our region is getting younger, and collaboration with our tri-region partners—Spruce Grove and Stony Plain—is essential to our shared success.
